Salarpur's Jagannath Temple celebrates Car Festival with Grandeur

New Delhi : Lord Jagannath Temple at Salarpur in Noida’s 101 Sector celebrated 24th Rath Yatra Festival amidst massive fanfare and spiritual fervour. The entire temple premises was elegantly decorated befitting to the grand occasion. Commencing from the wee hours of the day Mangala Arati and all other religious rituals were performed before the Deities in a solemn atmosphere.The main patron of the temple Surendra Nath Sahu was present along with family members. At around 2.30 p.m. in the afternoon the Four Deities were taken in Dhadi Pahandi procession to the colourfully decked up chariot stationed at the Grand Road in front of the temple.The entire atmosphere got reverberated with the recitals of hymns, roaring of slogans like Haribol and Jai Jagannath, sounding of Huluhuli, blowing of conch and playing of musical instruments such as Ghanta, Kartala, Mardala, Jhanja and Mrudanga by the devotees. Unusual interest, unexpected enthusiasm and unprecedented excitements were witnessed among the ten thousand strong Odia and non Odia devotees gathered here alongwith their family and relatives from Noida and GBN region to take part in the August Ceremony. The Temple Management Committee Shree Jagannath Sewa Trust under the stewardship of Secretary Mrutyunjay Samantara did elaborate arrangements to maintain discipline and decorum during the Mega Event.
Renowned Social Leader and Noted Chattered Accountant Dr Manoranjan Mohanty graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Temple’s designated King Rasmikant Nayak did the job of chherapahanra in front of the chariot.Other Distinguished Dignitaries present include Noida’s MLA Pankaj Singh and BJP Leader Pramod Bhal.
The chariot pulling commenced at around 4 p.m. in afternoon. The majestic Chariot carrying the Four Deities on board was pulled in Salarpur Village Road till 2.5 K.M. away to Shiv Sai Temple at Sai Baba Colony. The scenes of long lining up of devotees in both sides of the Yatra route to have an auspicious glimpse of the Lord of the Universe, were overwhelming. The acts of throwing of flowers towards the Idols by bystanders and breaking of coconuts in the sidewall of Chariot were just memorable and mesmerising. After reaching Shiv Sai Tample in evening Four Deities were taken in a procession to inside the temple and placed in a podium.The idols will be stationed at Shiv Sai Temple for nine days for worshiping and public viewing till the Bahuda Yatra on 5th July 2025 as per the information of Temple sources.
The Rath Yatra Festival was well managed and smoothly conducted by the able and active Organising team of Shree Jagannath Sewa Trust, which include President Atanu Kumar , Secretary Mrutyunjay Samantara, Tresurer Manas Ranjan Nayak and members Ram Mahanti, Asit Kumar Pati, Sukant Mohanty, Ramakanta Nayak ,Pabitra Kumar Mishra, Samarendra Jena, Jayprakash Mahapatra, Sanjay Padhi, Deepak Dash,Jitendra Satapathy,Tatawar Tripathy and Ashok Sahoo.
